€407,000 approved for Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trails – O’Donovan

Limerick TD and Minister of State for Finance Patrick O’Donovan has welcomed the news that almost €407,000 has been allocated by Minister Michael Ring for the development of the Ballyhoura Mountain Bike trails.

“This is a massive investment by the Government in South Limerick will build the reputation of the Ballyhoura Trails as Ireland’s premier biking trails.”

“Since 2012 the Government have been investing in our rural communities under a number of different headings, and this latest of €8.1million nationally under the Outdoor Rural Recreation Scheme will help rural communities across the country build their tourism potential.”

As a local TD here in Limerick, I know from speaking to people in the south of the County, the importance and the potential of the Ballyhoura Trails, so this investment by the Government will I know be very welcome by people across the area. The trails are an important tourism asset for Co. Limerick and so this investment will make a major difference.”

“We have a number of different schemes underway to invest by the Government in rural areas. I am anxious as a Government TD to secure the maximum level of investment here in Co Limerick, so this announcement by my colleague Minister Michael Ring of a €407,000 investment is very good news for Co. Limerick.”
