Minister O’Donovan welcomes €203,000 funding announcement for Co Limerick

Local TD and Minister, Patrick O’Donovan this morning welcomed the announcement by his colleague in Government Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD of over €203,000 into County Limerick. The investment, under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS), will be key to enhancing our mountain trails, forest walks, cycleways, rivers and lakes across the county. Projects can receive up to €30,000 under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme.

Projects being funded in Co Limerick include:

  • Castleconnell Village Steps into €30,000
  • Broadford-Ashford Walking Trails – Gleann Beag Loop Upgrade €10,098
  • Marketing and promotion of three rural Limerick walking trails at Glin, Kilfinane and Broadford/Ashford €17,712
  • New link between Darragh Creamery Carpark and the Molanna Loop (Keale River) Trail €30,000
  • Enhancement works to Ahnagurra Trail and Griston Bog sites €29,064
  • Reinstatement of old community walk at Ballyorgan €30,000
  • Marketing of Ballyhoura Country as a key destination for outdoor recreation for communities and visitors. €29,997
  • Ballyhoura Development CLG Donkey Sanctuary  Multi Access Trail €27,000
