€12,000 approved towards Newcastle West Teenage Recreational Area – O’Donovan

Fine Gael TD for Limerick Patrick O’Donovan has today welcomed the allocation of €12,000 towards the Newcastle West Teenage Recreational Court- Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) located adjacent to existing playground at the Demesne in the Town. The funding was announced this afternoon by the Minister for Children, James Reilly TD under his Departments Capital Grant Scheme for Play and Recreation Areas.

“I am delighted that Limerick City & County Council have been approved this funding for the project as a lot of work has gone into the project by Newcastle West Community Council and former County Councillor Damien Riedy in order to provide a suitable are for the teenage community of the town.”

“I will continue to work with both the Newcastle West Community Council and Limerick City & County Council on this project as it will maximise the range of play opportunities available to children and teenagers in the area, especially those who are marginalised or disadvantaged, or those with a disability.”
