Feb 20, 2014

Fine Gael TD for Limerick Patrick O’ Donovan has welcomed the decision of the Department of Education and Skills to approve funding for additional accommodation for St Patrick’s National School in Bruree, County Limerick. The funding will go towards the provision of two mainstream classrooms and a learning support room.

Deputy O’ Donovan who had worked tirelessly to ensure the funding would be awarded said he was delighted that the long awaited work would now go ahead. “This is great news for the village of Bruree and the surrounding area. A lot of hard work has gone into this project by the Board of Management, Parents Association and teachers in Bruree National School in securing this funding. In the next four years the school is going to see a major increase in enrolment, this decision by the Department will ensure that the school will be able to meet this demand.”

“Anyone who has ever worked on getting funding for such work to be carried out knows that it is no easy task, particularly given our current economic situation, but funding such as this is a sign of our Government’s commitment to the education of future generations.”
