Fine Gael TD for Limerick County Patrick O’ Donovan has welcomed the announcement this morning that Northern Trust Ireland is to embark on a major expansion at its Limerick operation based at Hamilton House, in the National Technology Park which will create 400 new jobs over the next five years and bring the work force of the company up to 700.

“This jobs announcement by the Minister Richard Bruton and Northern Trust Ireland this morning is great news for Limerick and the Midwest and will deliver high quality jobs for the area”.

“Hopefully this will be the catalysis to attract other financial service companies to come to Limerick. This announcement is a major vote of confidence in Limerick and the Midwest region and I wish every success those involved in this announcement today.”

“This is prime example of the attraction that Ireland holds for leading financial services companies, and the work being done by Minister and the IDA in attracting leading financial service companies to Ireland. It also proves that the Action Plan for Jobs is delivering as the financial services sector forms a major part of this plan.”
