Fine Gael TD for Limerick Patrick O’ Donovan has this morning (Wednesday) announced that Limerick County Council is to receive €100,000 in addition funding from the Department for the Environment, Community and Local Government. This money will be used for additional works to be carried out on water supply and sewerage projects in Co. Limerick.
The announcement comes after Deputy O’ Donovan received confirmation from the Phil Hogan, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government that the addition funding would be provided. The four projects that will benefit from this announcement today are in Newcastle West, Croom, Ardpatrick and Anglesboro. Patrick O’Donovan said that the funding was very welcome and is additional money to that which Phil Hogan had already announced for water and sewerage projects in Limerick which included Kilmallock and Patrickswell.
“Since I was elected to the Dáil I have been raising the need to invest in the water and sewerage infrastructure of Co. Limerick with Minister Hogan. I am delighted that he has made this further allocation to Limerick County Council and I am sure it will be very welcome by the communities where the money will be spent. I will continue to impress upon the Minister the need for further investment in this area, because this infrastructure is critical for the development of communities.”
Deputy O’Donovan said he was told by the Minister that the money being provided to the Council are for works that will be completed before the end of the year.
