Fine Gael TD for Limerick Patrick O’Donovan has welcomed the announcement by Regeneron to create a world class biopharmaceutical facility in Limerick. The company are planning to invest$300million in Limerick which will result in the creation of 300 jobs in the facility. It is expected that up to 600 construction jobs will be created in Limerick as a result.

Patrick O’Donovan congratulated local Minister Michael Noonan, Jobs Minister Richard Bruton and the IDA for delivering a major project of this nature to Limerick. “This is a huge vote of confidence by an international company in Limerick and the Mid West. The announcement will, I believe, provide fantastic opportunities for people from Limerick and the Mid West region to gain employment and It is also a hugely important announcement for the third level institutions in Limerick including UL and LIT.”

Patrick O’Donovan said that this was the latest in a series of positive news announcements in Limerick and it underlined the importance of having a Minister of Michael Noonan’s standing in the area. He said that the positive steps that had made in the region in the last two and a half years had been made under the guidance of Michael Noonan and he had no doubt but that he would be in a position to deliver further positive news for the Mid West Region, and Limerick in particular in the months and years ahead.
