Jan 8, 2018

Limerick TD and Minister Patrick O’Donovan has welcomed news that Minister Michael Ring has allocated €54,614 for the development of a walkway in Kantoher.

The allocation has been made under the Outdoor Recreational Infrastructure Scheme and is one of thirty two grants being made from a €2.2million scheme.

“I had asked Minister Ring to consider Kantoher and the plans that were drawn up for funding and I am delighted now with this very good news for Kantoher, the community of Kileedy and the wider area. It shows this Government’s continued commitment to invest in rural areas and it follows announcements of funding to communities under Sports Capital, Town and Village Renewal and Rural Recreation.”

“This allocation to Kantoher will allow for the development of an amenity that will give people of all generations the opportunity to enjoy a safe area to walk. I have worked with the local community group there in Kileedy for many years on the development of their plans and as Minister now in Limerick I am delighted to have been able to deliver this investment to Limerick.”
